Chapter 2: In vitro fertilisation (IVF/ICSI)

Welcome to our pages about assisted reproductive technologies (so-called test-tube babies). This complex issue has been a cornerstone of my medical activities since 1997, and I would like to illustrate it with many pictures. Our IVF concept has the following advantages:

• concentration of counseling, workup and treatment in one hand;
• internationally renowned biologists are entrusted with the laboratory work;
• an experienced anaesthesia doctor makes sure that the egg collection is painless.

TRUST THROUGH COMPETENCE

The medical group IVF Zurich was founded 1998 and runs a successful IVF laboratory, which used to be in Zollikerberg hospital and was relocated to a modern daycare structure (OPERAtionszentrum Zumikon) in 2008. Personally, I have been enjoying a trustful, quality-oriented and friendship-based cooperation with Prof. Dale and Dr. Wilding since 1999.

Our successful IVF program is scrutinized by the Swiss IVF registry (FIVNAT-CH), where we regularly send anonymized data for quality control. We perform well around one hundert "fresh" treatment cycles per year. The pregnancy rate per embryo transfer is at the very top of Swiss centres.
